Lesson 6 Why Do They Call it Scribbler?

We know robots can write, but can they create art?

The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to draw geometric shapes with the robot.  You will learn how to determine angles and arcs and use programming to recreate shapes.

Objectives/Outcomes:

By the time you complete this activity you should be able to:

1.       Program the Scribbler robot to draw triangles, circles, and squares

2.       Use moves, turns, and subroutines together in a program

3.       Demonstrate understanding of the concept of Looping by creating programs with loops

4.       Define Vertex and Vertices

5.       Define equilateral triangle

6.       Calculate the exterior angle of an equilateral triangle

7.       Define congruent

8.       Calculate the time to turn each wheel to correspond to distances for moving the robot to create a desired size object

Instructions:

View the following items and open the Worksheet document.  The worksheet contains a checklist for you to check off items as you complete them, and also has questions to answer.  Give the filled-out worksheet to your instructor at the completion of this activity.
