Lesson 0 Getting Started

Are you ready to be a roboticist (a person who builds and operates robots)?  Do you know what a robot is? What about where they are used? 

The purpose of this lesson is to become familiar with robots in general, the Scribbler S2 Robot features, and the Program Maker software environment.

Objectives/Outcomes:

By the time you complete this activity you should be able to:

1.       Install Batteries into the Scribbler Robot

2.       Connect the Scribbler Robot to the Computer using the USB cable

3.       Turn on the Scribbler Robot

4.       Run the pre-defined programs that come with the Scribbler Robot to ensure everything is working

5.       Start the Program Maker Software

6.       Open the Help System in the Program Maker Software

7.       Be familiar with the general operation of the Program Maker Software

8.       Name several industries where robots are used

9.       Know the definition of a robot

10.   Know Asimov’s three laws of robots
