Objectives/Outcomes:

By the time you complete this lesson you should be able to:

o    Understand the applications of robots in many different industries

o    Define robot and robotics

o    Know why the first robots were built for U.S. manufacturing

o    Understand the characteristics of robots

o    Compare robots to automated machines and understand the differences

o    Know some examples of how robots are used in medicine and other industries

o    Know the definition of an autonomous robot

o    Know the three laws of robots and who developed them
